The Networking Event “German-Ukrainian Academic Cooperation: Best Practice, Challenges and Opportunities” on 28 and 29 January 2016 in Berlin.

Chairman of the Board of the State Fund For Fundamental  Research (SFFR) Dr. Valery Kukhar  and SFFR Director Dr. Borys Grynyov took part at the Networking Event “German-Ukrainian Academic Cooperation: Best Practice, Challenges and Opportunities” on 28 and 29 January 2016 in Berlin. This event was organized by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in coordination with the  Deutsche  Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH) and supported by the German Federal Foreign Office, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).

The meeting aims to foster German-Ukrainian cooperation in science and higher education. It will provide a broad platform for information and best-practice exchange in the area of bi-lateral academic cooperation, especially on dedicated funding opportunities and relevant support programmes, ongoing reforms in Ukraine, and facilitate the dialogue between the academic community and organizations funding and promoting academic and S&T cooperation with Ukraine.

SFFR Chairman  Dr. V.Kukhar and SFFR Director Dr. B. Grynyov also took part  in discussions concerning newly adopted changes of the Ukrainian legislation on the Science and S&T activities. Borys Grynyov had  a  presentation on the topic “From the State Fund For Fundamental Research to the National Research Fund”, which was expressed a number of caveats regarding the proposed changes to  existing structures.
